Job Title: Chief Medical Scientist – Microbiology

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Microbiology Laboratory and staff.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 15189 standards and quality management.
- Oversee health and safety protocols, risk assessments, and staff training.
- Authorize and ensure accuracy of laboratory results.
- Collaborate with consultants and clinicians on patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in biomedical science.
- CORU registered as Medical Scientist.
- HCPC registered as Biomedical Scientist.
Experience:
- 7+ years full-time clinical experience in Microbiology.
- Minimum 2 years as a Senior Medical Scientist.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and technical proficiency.
- Leadership ability to support team development.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- Thorough knowledge of ISO 15189 requirements.
