Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Scientist with expertise in Biochemistry and Haematology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of laboratory tests and procedures, and will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results for patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures in Biochemistry and Haematology in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards
- Ensure accuracy and precision of laboratory results through proper sample preparation, analysis, and documentation
- Evaluate and troubleshoot test results to ensure validity and reliability
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and perform routine maintenance and calibration as needed
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
- Communicate test results to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
- Train and supervise laboratory assistants and other staff as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field – Current registration with CORU or advance stage
- Minimum of 1 years experience in Biochemistry and Haematology in a clinical laboratory setting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
