Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Grade Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical services to patients in a rotational capacity. The position requires a high level of knowledge and experience in all aspects of pharmaceutical care, including dispensing, compounding, and counseling patients on medication use.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain throughout the Hospital an awareness of the primacy of the patient in relation to all Hospital activities. Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the values of the Hospital. Participate in the pharmaceutical service a part of a punctual, dedicated and professional team. Create, promote and maintain open communications and healthy working relationships Maintain the principles of equity, accountability and quality in daily work. To ensure the supply of medicine and related items as may be required. The purchase, storage and supply of all items consistent with quality and value for money. The provision of ward-based clinical, aseptic and dispensary services including the provision of advice to medical and nursing staff. This will include rotational ward-based drug review, clinical input, dispensary and aseptic duties on all aspects of the medication use process. Ensure the timely collation and input of all data concerning drug usage in the hospital in line with departmental policy. To adhere to and maintain quality standards and any performance indicators for service developments implemented To cover other specialities, as and when necessary, to the same standard, in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures. To support work and provide cover in and to the Dispensary, Aseptics and Pharmacy Clinical Services staff in the development and running of the service as instructed by the Head of Pharmacy or their nominated deputy(ies). The performance of all duties and responsibilities in line with all Pharmacy Department

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution. Registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting ideally but open to new grads Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and other staff members. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work in a rotational capacity.
