Job Description:
Responsibilities:
– Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for patients in the acute psychiatric unit.
– Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
– Provide evidence-based psychological therapies and interventions to patients with acute psychiatric conditions.
– Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated patient care.
– Offer consultation and support to staff regarding psychological aspects of patient care.
– Participate in case conferences and contribute to treatment planning.
– Conduct risk assessments and develop management strategies for patients with complex needs.
– Supervise and mentor junior psychologists and psychology interns.
– Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment outcomes.
Required Skills:
– Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
– Expertise in delivering a range of psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other relevant approaches.
– Experience working in acute psychiatric settings.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
– Strong organizational and time-management skills.
– Proficiency in maintaining patient records and utilizing healthcare software systems.
– Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest research and practices in psychology.
Qualifications:
– Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.
– Professional registration with the relevant psychology board or authority.
– Significant experience in a clinical setting, preferably in acute psychiatric care.
– Previous supervisory experience is desirable.
