TTM Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Senior Dietitian to come join Ireland’s largest Oncology Network team. There is currently one Specified Purpose contract whole-time vacancy available. This post is primarily based in the Oncology Unit in Beaumont Hospital; however post holder may be required to work in the other areas within the network as the need arises. The Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics service here offers nutritional assessment and dietary advice to both in-patients and out-patients undergoing or recovering from cancer treatments. The department currently consists of a core staffing level of one Dietitian Manager and three Senior Dietitians. The staff appointed to this post will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a coordinated approach to client care and delivering a dietetic service to clients receiving and recovering from radiotherapy.

Overview of role:

  • Provide a comprehensive clinical service to patients to the area of assignment
  • Provide expert nutritional advice for the multidisciplinary teams and actively engage with the team by attending ward rounds, conferences, lunch meetings and grand rounds relevant to the area
  • Participate in the design and implementation of protocols/procedures for nutritional screening, referral, assessment and intervention
  • Record statistical information and produce reports as required
  • Participate in the Departments upskilling program for Dietitians which will provide an opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills to work in other specialties
  • Participate in the education programs run by the department for hospital staff
  • Be responsible for his/her own professional development and keep abreast of developments in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Initiate and actively participate in audit and in quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to the enhancement of clinical practice through participation in audit and research
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of standards and policies relating to the Nutrition & Dietetic service

Requirements:

  • Registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued
  • Have at least 3 years full-time (or equivalent) post-qualification clinical dietetic experience
  • Post-qualification clinical dietetic experience in the acute setting
  • Membership of the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute

Benefits:

  • Remuneration is in accordance with the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales, grade code 3395
  • The annual leave entitlement is 29 working days per year. The leave year runs from 1st April to the 31st of March each year
  • Normal working hours are 35 worked over 5 days.
