Salary Range: €50,000 – €65,000 per annum, depending on previous verified experience


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business decision-making by preparing accurate financial reports, analysing critical data, and ensuring effective financial planning and control.


Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and analyse variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing insights and recommendations to management.

2. Management Reporting

  • Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.

3. Cost Analysis and Control

  • Analyse and report on cost centres, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Support cost control initiatives across departments.

4. Compliance and Controls

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls, as well as developing procedures when necessary.
  • Work with auditors during internal and external audits in collaboration with the Senior Finance Manager.

5. Collaboration and Support

  • Act as a financial advisor to department heads, providing insights and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team on month-end and year-end processes.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA) required.

Experience

  • Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or related roles in industry.
  • Experience in the nursing home sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Netsuite or Oracle systems.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
