Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Clinical Nurse Manager – Transitional Care Unit – North Dublin
TTM Healthcare Solutions in partnership with a Healthcare Group of premium quality nursing homes, are currently recruiting for a full-time Clinical Nurse Manager IPC for their Transitional Care Units based in North Dublin.
Responsibilities:
Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing the day-to-day management of the home Act as a member of the team, including, as deemed required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing, the Multidisciplinary Care Team, the Risk Management Team, the Incident Management Team and the Infection Control Team.
Endeavour to keep abreast of recent trends in developments by reading widely. Ensure resident confidentiality throughout the facility.
Resident information shall not be discussed outside of the home, except within a professional capacity and in the interest of the resident with the expressed permission of the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing.
Motivate team members by agreeing goals and objectives, through performance review. Be responsible for the management of care staff and appropriate dealing with regards to human resource issues. Create and promote open communications, healthy working relationships, and stimulate initiative among the team.
Delegation:
Ensure that where directing delegation of care, the delegation is appropriate to the definitions and philosophies of nursing. Delegation shall take into account the levels of experience, competence, role and scope of practice of the staff member taking on the delegated task. Work towards a restraint free environment, with implementation of practices in accordance with the National Policy.
Consider disciplinary and grievance matters procedures in accordance with deviations from the staff member’s job description, the residential home’s operational policies and procedures, any code of conduct expected of staff members and other professional codes of practice.
Ensure that staff rights, including working hours, and responsibilities are complied with in accordance with best practice and legislation.
Ensure staff receive training in, are familiar with, and implement all policies and procedures.
Ensure staff have up-to-date knowledge and skills appropriate to their role to respond to and manage behaviour that is challenging.
Ensure that all staff receive appropriate training in relation to safeguarding residents, whistleblowing, and the prevention, detection and response to abuse. Attend/chair meetings as required and keep staff briefed on developments in the facility.
Implement and manage identified service and care changes via the facilities
Change Management process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date statistics of the service provided by the client.
Qualifications Essential:
Nursing Qualification Ongoing registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Desirable:
Postgraduate in Gerontology Previous experience in Care of the Elderly
