As an agency Support Worker you will be responsible for:

  • Providing care and support to service users based on their individual needs and preferences.
  • Assisting with basic skills such as feeding, washing, dressing etc.
  • Encouraging and supporting service users to engage in their preferred activities, helping them to realise their potential.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and family members to ensure the highest level of care is provided.

What you will need for this role:

  • Minimum of a Level 5 QQI certificate in Healthcare (8 Modules Completed and Final Results)
  • At least 3 months experience working with people living with intellectual disabilities in a day or residential service.
  • Full driving license and access to your own car.  (Driving may form part of this role)
  • Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills.  Empathy and a desire to help others live fulfilling, independent lives.
  • All candidates will be required to undergo Garda Vetting.  In addition, candidates who have lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months over the age of 16 will be required to produce International Police Clearance.  Failure to have this document during the initial recruitment stages will result in an unsuccessful application.
