Job Title: Temporary Agency Midwife with Paediatric Skills

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced midwife with paediatric skills to provide temporary cover to various healthcare facilities in Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the care of newborns and infants, and also providing support to mothers during the postpartum period.
Responsibilities:
– Assisting with the delivery of babies and providing postnatal care to mothers and babies
– Monitoring the health of newborns and infants and providing appropriate care and treatment
– Conducting neonatal resuscitation, if necessary
– Administering medication and IV fluids
– Assisting with breastfeeding and bottle feeding
– Liaising with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and social workers
– Maintaining accurate patient records and reports
– Providing emotional support to mothers and families during the postpartum period
Requirements:
– Degree in Midwifery
– Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
– Minimum of 2 years of experience in midwifery, with a focus on paediatrics
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
– Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
